Awkward meetings with a boyfriend or girlfriend's parents are a nearly universal experience ripe for comedy. Peeples, the hilarious new film from producer Tyler Perry and Drumline writer Tina Gordon Chism (who makes her directing debut), takes the premise to the max.
Kerry Washington stars as Grace Peeples, favorite daughter of a stern federal judge (David Alan Grier) who must face the music when her humble boyfriend (Craig Robinson) invites himself to her family reunion. Needless to say, Robinson doesn't fit in with "the chocolate Kennedys" and must find a way to win over the humorless Judge Peeples before he can propose to Grace.
In a BET.com exclusive, Grier and his co-star S. Epatha Merkerson recall their worst meet-the-parents stories, and Grier talks about dealbreakers when it comes to dating his own daughter.
Peeples hits theaters on May 10.
