Casting News: New Projects for Fantasia, Morgan Freeman and Djimon Hounsou

The "American Idol" winner heads back to Broadway.

Black Hollywood is keeping busy as ever. Fantasia is heading back to Broadway, Djimon Hounsou will lend his voice to How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Morgan Freeman will join Scarlett Johannson on the big screen in Lucy.
American Idol winner Fantasia will be the first in a rotation of stars to headline After Midnight on Broadway. The Jazz Age musical is set in Harlem's Cotton Club with music by jazz legend Wynton Marsalis. Fantasia will headline the revue from October 2013 to February 2014.
Meanwhile, on the big screen, Hounsou will voice the villainous character Drago Bludvfist in Dragon, the second installment of the blockbuster Dreamworks Animation franchise. Joining him in the recording booth will be Cate Blanchett as a vigilante warrior and Game of Thrones' Kit Harington as his evil lieutenant Dragon Prince. The film is scheduled for a 2014 release.
Morgan Freeman must not be taking any vacations this year. The busy actor has just added another film to his dance card, Luc Besson's action flick Lucy, opposite Scarlett Johannson. Freeman will play a charismatic professor enlisted to help Johannson, in the title role, control newfound superpowers that are also killing her. This is one of at least five projects the Now You See Me actor will shoot in the next twelve months.
