The Hunger Games director also talks Lauryn Hill and Left Eye.
As director of Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Francis Lawrence reigns as one of the biggest film directors in recent history. But the filmmaker got his start as a premier music video director who worked with some of the most influential hip hop and R&B stars of the past decade.
We talked to Lawrence about working with the likes of Lauryn Hill, Beyoncè and Lil' Kim, and asked him which of these divas he would want to be partnered with if he had to play Hunger Games (hint: he described his choice as "very smart, strong and, of the three, the toughest, in a good way").
Plus, Lawrence tells us his most vivid memory of working with the late, great Whitney Houston, with whom he worked on her video for 2000's "Could I Have This Kiss Forever," featuring Enrique Iglesias.
Check out of exclusive interview with Francis Lawrence, below, and see Hunger Games: Catching Fire in theaters starting Friday.
