R. Kelly's Youngest Child Comes Out as Transgender

The teenager recently came out on social media.

R. Kelly’s youngest child, named Jaya at birth, has bravely come out as transgender on social media, InTouch reports.
Now going by the name Jay, 13, the teenager publicly came out on his Instagram page and explains in his Ask.fm profile that he has identified as male since the age of “6 or 7.”
Elaborating on his experience on the question-answer social platform, Jay said that this revaluation is nothing new to those closest to him.  His mother — Drea, who stars in the VH1 reality series Hollywood Exes — has been nothing but supportive of his journey.
“[My mom] was like, ‘Baby, you know I love you if you were bi, gay, [lesbian], you name it and I would still love you so much,” he wrote.
The teenager explained though his famous father was unaware of his transformation, other members of his family have served as pillars of support during his coming out stage.
“[My mom] was very proud of me, I was like, ‘Thank you mum for accepting the fact that I’m a transgender,” he said. “And same with my sister, she told me that she was proud of me, and respects me by calling me handsome and calling me her little brother now, and I love her for that, so you know it was great for me.”
Jay also reveals on the site that while he still possesses female anatomy, he wears a binder on his chest, and ultimately hopes to undergo the necessary surgical procedures so that his transition can be complete.
“I believe I am a boy and want surgery, and the medication to help me [become] who I was supposed to be,” he said.
