Terrence Howard, Wife Welcome a Baby Boy

The Empire star says he's pulling night duty for his newborn son.

Terrence Howard has been spending his hiatus from Empire pulling diaper duty. The actor and his wife, Mira, have welcomed a baby boy, he revealed to Access Hollywood on Monday. The couple named the child, their first, Qirin Love, named after a mythical creature called the qilin from Chinese culture. He was born about four weeks ago, Howard revealed.
"He's beautiful and strong and a whirlwind and my wife is so happy," he says. "She has to be up with him all throughout the day." Howard also proudly shares that he's joined the #DadBod revolution. "I wasn't born with boobs, I've started growing some recently," he jokes.
The Empire star also says he's taking advantage of his time off by being a hands-on dad. "I pull night duty, so that she can sleep," he explains. "I keep him with me and will take some of the pre-pumped, you know, breast cheese, whatever you want to call it."
The couple first announced their pregnancy publicly on New Year's Eve, though rumors first began circulating in November. The low-key couple tied the knot in secret in 2013. Qirin is Howard's fourth child; he has two daughters and a son from his marriage to Lori McCommas, which ended in 2007. He and his second wife, Michelle Ghent, had no children together — probably a good thing considering the ugliness of their divorce battle.
It's clearly going to be an extra-special Father's Day for Terrence. See what the actor — along with a bunch of other celebs — have to say about fatherhood in our Father's Day special video, below:
