It seems comedy on Hulu continues to push the boundaries, but recently, the lines were pushed a bit too far when a sexually-suggestive "joke" about 3-year-old Blue Ivy Carter — involving R. Kelly — was thrown into the mix.

The show that aired the disgusting dig was the Amy Poehler-produced Difficult People. According to The Root, in the series, actress Julie Klausner plays a character named Julie Kessler, a comedian who "hates everyone but herself" and fellow comic Billy Epstein.

The distasteful scene was introduced when Kessler and Epstein were having a conversation about a joke that she performed that fell flat — the irony. The joke in question involved Beyoncé and Jay Z's adorable daughter, Blue Ivy, and R&B singer R. Kelly, specifically referencing the "Bump and Grind" singer's controversial past involving the reported video of him urinating on an underage girl.

"I wrote that thing about Blue Ivy and now the Internet is being really mean to me. Unfollow. Kill yourself. From @SpinClassAddict9," Kessler said in the episode. When Epstein asked her to repeat the joke, she replied, "I can't wait for Blue Ivy to be old enough so R. Kelly can piss on her."

As soon as the episode aired, word of the cringe-worthy attempt at a joke spread like wildfire on the Internet with people taking to social media to express their outrage, slamming the show and demanding that it be removed from the online streaming service. While the inapporpriate words were said on Poehler's show, it is not clear whether or not the SNL alumna wrote it herself. Regardless, it seems the public feels that jokes about children and sexual assault are not a laughing matter.
