Celebrity Beauty Secrets Revealed! | Kotex 2009 | Style

Pssst. What’s your beauty secret? That’s the question we asked 12 of the most down-to-earth women in Hollywood. They’re our favorite around-the-way-girls, all of whom know how to turn-on the glitz and glam when the cameras are flashing. But at the end of the day, when the pumps and makeup come off and the head wraps go on, how do these women keep their skin beautiful?

We ignored the age-old remedies we’ve all heard before – drink eight glasses of water a day, eat five fruits and five vegetables, blah, blah, blah. We wanted remedies passed down from generation to generation, the time-tested beauty and hair tips that keep these beautiful women glowing and gorgeous to the max. We’re talking diva-worthy details. Take notes.

TYRA BANKS - "My secret is actually Vaseline. I wash my face and I moisturize, then I put Vaseline under my eyes. If I don't get any sleep, white eyeliner works on your eyes to make them look 10-times bigger and brighter. I also find that if I wear a bright red lipstick, people look at the lips and won’t notice the rest of the face … like the dark circles under my eyes.

SANAA LATHAN - "Lots of laughter is good. When I say that I mean having a positive outlook, being loving and having compassion for others. That will keep you looking young.

HOLLY ROBINSON PEETE - "Believe it or not, I grow fresh thyme in my garden. Once a month, I boil it in water, put a towel over my head and steam my face with it. It’s extremely cleansing and detoxifying, not to mention relaxing. You can find thyme at your local grocery store in the produce section.

MO'NIQUE - "My best beauty secret is a pure and gentle facial soap. Every night, I cleanse my face with a clear, mild, glycerin-rich soap that doesn’t contain any detergents, dyes or hardeners. These soaps rinse off completely and don’t leave any pore-clogging residue. After rinsing my face with very cold water, I apply cocoa butter to moisturize my skin.

NICOLE ARI PARKER - "For me, meditation is an important beauty secret because you can’t look good unless you feel good. Every day, I make time to re-connect with the Divine Spirit, even if it’s for 15 minutes.

TIA MOWRY - "You can’t go wrong with a silk hair bonnet. It helps to prevent hair damage.

NIECY NASH - "Brown Sugar Body Polish. You'll love yourself after using this product."
