Queen Latifah’s Signature Line Respects the Curves

The Queen tells "Essence" magazine her clothes were made to flatter curvaceous women like her.

Queen Latifah is showing off her curves in a red satin dress on the cover of Essence magazine’s January 2012 issue and tells the magazine she’s happy to be creating her own figure-flattering styles through her “Queen” collection for HSN.
"A lot of manufacturers don't respect the curvaceous woman,” Latifah said. “They don't respect our dollar or our shape. Working with HSN has been such a great partnership. I'm happy to be able to make women's clothing I really like...everything in the line is something I would wear myself."
When the Queen shops, she looks for “stylish clothes that fit my body, and make me look good and feel good about myself,” and said she wanted to offer the same for her customers. And she doesn’t discriminate: while promoting the line she said the term “plus size” should be banned and noted her collection is for “all sizes” (specifically size 2 to 24).
