Fab or Fail? Ashanti in Falguni and Shane Peacock

Something’s missing from this picture…

New York Fashion Week always turns up a parade of over-the-top outfits and Ashanti didn't disappoint at Falguni and Shane Peacock's Fall 2012 show.

As the first signs of snow fell in the city on February 12, Ashanti tried to heat things up in a multi-colored, sequin and sheer panel piece that left little to the imagination. The dress (if you can even call a few strips of fabric that) featured blue, brown and red print on the side and a black neckline that looked like a necklace. We suspect it was also loaded with double-stick tape on the inside so she didn’t let it all hang out while taking her seat in the front row, where she folded her hands in her lap for frontal coverage.
The singer wore a curious braided forehead band, chunky earrings and bangles and matched her risqué dress with risqué shoes. Her Christian Louboutin pumps were detailed with crystal embellishments at the top that spell out “Sex,” when placed side by side.
She sat by Michelle Williams, who also wore one of the designer’s sheer dresses, but with a much less obvious execution: a long-sleeved sheer mini with beading at the top and feathers at the bottom, paired with Christian Louboutin booties.
