If Janelle Monae and Lady Gaga can land a spot on Vanity Fair’s 2011 International Best-Dressed list, in all due fairness, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z deserve the crown in 2012. We’re talking the world’s most stylish stars here and both musicians have had a standout year. The editors of Vanity Fair seem to think so too…

Jay-Z traded in his baggy denim and Air Force 1s for a more refined look in a slimmer silhouette. From tailored suits to dapper separates, Sean Carter cleaned up and caught the attention of the international fashion crowd.

Alicia worked the style circuit in a myriad of covetable pieces—chic dresses, Isabel Marant sneaker wedges and a decadent headdress that will go down in fashion history—we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention her gorgeous new cut too!

Vanity Fair’s
September issue celebrating the 2012 honorees hasn’t hit newsstands but the celebs who made the cut has been released. In addition to Alicia and Jay-Z are, Victor Cruz of the NY Giants, artist Ike Ude, fashion designer Ozwald Boateng and actress Fan Bingbing.
