Wendy Williams Dishes Advice on Love, Sex, and Breakups

Wendy Williams dishes advice on love, sex, and breakups. The daytime talk show host says passion and communication are her key requirements for a successful relationship.

Wendy Williams has a penchant for being frank no matter who's sitting across from her. So when the daytime talk show host had a chat with YourTango to talk about relationships, her requirement for a good marriage, and how to move on from a breakup, she did not hold back.

Williams noted that communication, passion, and laughter are her requirements for a strong relationship, but when asked about the best love advice she's ever received, Williams mentioned the importance of divorce and letting things go when it's not working the way it should be.

"Well, I don't know if someone actually told me this, but one thing that's really important is that divorce is there for a reason," she said. "Sometimes marriages don't work. Don't stay together for reasons that aren't practical. Babies don't save a marriage!"

She even touched upon actress Kristen Stewart's infidelity while involved with her Twilight costar and boyfriend Robert Pattinson and said that, speaking from experience, when a partner is unfaithful it's still possible to move on from that with the relationship intact.

"No relationship is perfect," she says though she does admire what the Obamas' share. "If you're with the other person for a long time and you’ve invested a lot in the relationship or are married, for example, you owe it to yourself to try and make it work. But, sometimes it doesn't. It's possible to move on, for sure. It's not a secret that my husband wasn't faithful a long time ago, but I've moved forward. If you're going to move on though, you can't keep bringing it up. Actually move on."

And if you can't let the indiscretion go, Williams gave a quick tip on moving on after a breakup.

"The best way to get over a man, is to get under another! No really, though! I'm not saying to go out and actually have sex with people, but put yourself back out there. You can meet a man on the subway, or at Whole Foods, or at a bar. You've got to put some lip gloss on and get out there," she suggested.
