The star's wig was patted down as she passed through airport security.
Solange Knowles' afro is praised by hair and style enthusiasts, but it was a cause for suspicion to TSA agents yesterday. As the singer-DJ passed through the airport, security guards in Miami demanded to search her afro wig and she went on Twitter to vent about it.
“Discrim-FRO-nation. My hair is not a storage drawer. Although, guess I couuld [sic] hide a joint up in here. *Blames “Romnesia” (my wig’s name).”
Solange managed to keep a good sense of humor about the ordeal, tweeting to her 1.3 million Twitter followers, “Lets play a little game called: "What did TSA find in Solange's Fro"?”
Some answered saying “a bobby pin,” “Romney’s actual 5 point plan,” “a wedding ring that u [sic] used to wear for Danny!” and “the $50 that was missing from Julez piggy bank.”
Solange is not the first celebrity to have her hair searched by TSA. Gabrielle Union’s weave raised eyebrows when she passed through airport security in February 2012.
What do you think about Solange’s experience? Has your hair ever been searched by the TSA? Sound off in the comments!
