During a video interview with Hypetrak TV, Azealia Banks said she doesn't fully trust the fashion industry. Even though the rapper has been receiving a lot of attention for her style, she said she knows better than to put her faith in the fashion world.

"If you place your faith in the fashion world you will get let down as an artist. You absolutely will get let down," she said.

Banks added that "too much fashion attention as an artist can actually smother you and it can really, really distract from your music" and she admitted that she almost reached that point herself.

"I really like Alexander Wang and I really shop at ASOS, so it makes sense, but you can very easily get sucked up by the fashion world, because they bring artists in to kind of make themselves look a certain way, and as soon as someone new comes out, they've completely forgotten about you. They're so fickle...if you place your faith in the fashion world, you will get let down as an artist...so it's very, very important to remember what you're here for."

Do you agree with what she says about the fashion industry?
