The celeb hairstylist will serve as spokesperson, develop new products and create a curriculum for textured hair.
Celebrity hairstylist Tippi Shorter has just been tapped to be Aveda's first global director for textured hair. Shorter, who's styled the locks of A-listers such as Kelly Rowland, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys, said she's thrilled by her new role and looks forward to sharing what the brand's products can do for the curly-haired girls.
"I'm beyond excited," Shorter told The Huffington Post. "My professional hairstyling roots started at an Aveda Concept Salon twenty years go – so I'm incredibly overwhelmed."
Shorter will not only serve as spokesperson for Aveda, but she will also take appointments twice a month at Aveda's New York City salon, help develop new products and create a course for hairstylists geared towards textured hair. She also revealed her own plans for a salon in Kansas City, Missouri, and said she'll be styling actress Naomie Harris' hair for the Met Ball on May 6.
