Rihanna Goes Rogue With New Fragrance

The singer says her new bold and flirty scent reflects who she is today.

Looking at Rihanna's style evolution — as a girly Bajan pop singer to today’s “unapologetic” femme fatale — you could say the songstress is a fan of switching gears and setting trends.
The singer’s new fragrance, Rogue, is the perfect symbol for her transformation.
“People are always changing and evolving, and with Rogue, my new fragrance, I wanted to switch it up to reflect who I am today. It’s a personal fragrance that’s more self-aware. It’s Rogue, it’s me,” Rihanna said in a press release. “This scent embodies demure feminine qualities yet carries into an audacious new moment. I made it for all women, for every mood, because we all want to project our true selves.”
Rihanna worked closely with Parlux LTD, the company producing her fragrance, reviewing bottle concepts, promotional ads and more than 300 submissions of the perfume, said Diana Espino, VP of global marketing and brand development at Parlux LTD. In fact, the team even visited a few of the singer's tour stops to get final approvals.
The scent, perfumer Marypierre Julien describes to BET.com, is sexy and bold, with a bit of mystery and powerful femininity. The fragrance has hints of lemon blossom, jasmine, rose and sandalwood.
“I’ve always tried to capture Rihanna’s attitude and personality at each step of her career,” Julien said.
Rogue is available at Macy’s, Dillard’s and Belk.
