Boris Kodjoe and his wife, Nicole, as well as other pioneers across various industries are being honored by Face2Face Africa during its annual pan-African achievement awards. The Face List recognizes the achievements made in business, leaderships, sports, entertainment, technology, health, and non-profit sectors by those who’ve helped push the community forward. The Kodjoes will receive the Humanitarian Award.
“Actors and power couple Boris and Nicole Ari Parker founded Sophie’s Voice Foundation in Honor of their daughter Sophie who was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth,” the press release states. “Today, Sophie’s Voice has become an influential organization that is supporting global health and wellness initiatives in multicultural communities and educating families worldwide on the importance of building healthful lifestyles.”
Ashish J. Thakkar, founder and CEO of Mara Group, will be receiving the Entrepreneur Award for developing his first business at the age of 15 and now becoming Africa’s youngest billionaire.
Fumbi Chima, Chief Information Officer of Wal-Mart Asia, will receive the Trailblazer Award; Amadou G. Fall, NBA VP and Managing Director of Africa, will be honored with the Leadership Award; fashion designer Mimi Plange will receive the Fashion Award; Donna Katzin, founder of Shared Interest, will be recognized with the Ubuntu Award for Service; andDonald C. Notice, executive director of West Harlem Group Assistance, will receive the Community Developmental Award.
