President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama took time on Friday to host the athletes that participate in this summer's Olympic and Paralympic games. More than 400 athletes gathered at the White House as Obama told them how proud they are of Team USA.

Not only did he admit jealousy over his wife's trip to London for the opening ceremony, but he also said that he used their performance as motivation to train harder in the White House exercise room.

"I’ve mastered the DVR so I was able to catch a little bit of everything," Obama said. "I was inspired to run a little bit faster watching (Olympic sprinter) Tyson Gay … (or) do a few more crunches after watching Michael Phelps and the other swimmers."

This year, Team USA had their best Olympic performance on foreign soil by bringing home 104 medals, including 46 gold.
