Naomi Campbell Injured in Mugging Attempt

The supermodel suffered a torn ligament in the altercation.

The fashion world is bringing in the New Year with confirmed unfortunate news about one of its own. The Daily Mail Online is reporting that Naomi Campbell was hurt in a mugging attempt last November. Revelations about the attack came after the star was seen in December wearing a brace and photographed in a wheelchair.
The attack occurred when the 42-year old supermodel was sitting in a Paris limousine. Two thieves approached her car on motorbike and tried to snatch Campbell’s handbag. The altercation took place in Rue De Moussy, a very trendy district of the French capital.
At the time of the incident, Campbell refused to have a medical examination, but she reportedly suffered a torn ligament in the thwarted bag snatch. Nothing was taken, but Campbell filed a complaint at a Paris police station.
Previous unconfirmed reports described the attack as a “brutal and violent mugging” that occurred when the supermodel was trying to hail a taxi in the French capital, but it appears those were just exaggerated accounts of the attempted mugging.
A spokesperson for the supermodel had no comment. But when pressed by The New York Post for a response about the incident Campbell said, “I am sorry, I do not talk to press, but I am fine.”
Apparently, the fashionista is indeed doing well; she reportedly is vacationing in Miami and has resumed her busy tweeting schedule.
