Lupe Fiasco: I Got a Legit 9 to 5 Now
Lupe Fiasco has signed on for a new job as creative director of a new health app. The start-up, called Higi, is a wellness application that takes a user's blood pressure, weight and other vitals as well as social interactions to calculate a score.
"The dope part about this, other than just being creative director, is adding value to this company because it adds value to the world," Fiasco told Billboard while at SXSW on Saturday.
Another feature that would make it easier for users to keep track of their meals is a photo aspect that allows you to upload a picture of your dish or physical activity and let the app calculate how many calories it contains or burns. It will also share fitness tips to burn the calories consumed.
"You could take a picture of this fried chicken, and if it was 60 calories you could take a couple walks around the block, or do 20 minutes of jumping jacks," he says.
While the rapper is still touring in support of his current album, Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, and hard at work on his new record due later this year, Higi will take priority. "This is like my normal job … I’m still doing the rapper thing, but I got a legit 9 to 5 now."
