Lloyd Passes On Young Money Deal, Signs With Interscope Records

Despite working closely with the Young Money family, Lloyd won't be signing with Lil Wayne's record label after all. The singer has reportedly just signed a deal with Interscope Records.

With the success of "Bedrock," the first single from YM's “We Are Young Money” debut, many began to speculate that Lloyd would soon start singing under the roof Lil Wayne built. But according to Young Goldie, past experiences with Universal/Motown hindered the former Murder Inc. crooner from joining the YM roster.

“The problem is that Young Money/Cash Money is exclusive to Universal/ Motown,” Lloyd explained to MTV.com. “As you and I know, that's where I did my last two albums. I wasn't excited about going back.”

He also broke down his relationship with Interscope chairman Jimmy Iovine and producer Polow Da Don. "I love the way Interscope gets down,” Lloyd said. “I love the way Jimmy gets down. I've always had a good working relationship with Polow. Having that creative partner is something I wanted to have, since the very beginning, to have that one creative partner.”
