The Long Beach Press Telegram reports that Long Beach native Nate Dogg, who collaborated on countless hits with Dr. Dre, Eminem, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg and was featured on the inimitable track "Regulate" by Warren G, was pronounced dead by his family late Tuesday night.

Born Nathaniel D. Hale, he was 41 years old. The cause of death has not yet been announced.

Hale suffered two strokes, one in 2007 and another in 2008. The Regulator recently tweeted about his friend's health battle: "For those that dont know awhile back nate had 2 strokes he is in therapy thanks again for your support.”
