As the anticipation builds for the release of the video for Beyoncé’s first single “Girls (Run the World),” the R&B diva decided to whet fans' appetites by announcing the name of her highly anticipated upcoming album: 4.
Bey spoke to Billboard magazine about why the number four is so important to her.
“We all have special numbers in our lives, and 4 is that for me,” the international pop star explains to Billboard. “It’s the day I was born. My mother’s birthday and a lot of my friends’ birthdays are on the fourth; April 4 is my wedding date.” The album will also be Beyonce’s fourth solo studio album.
As previously reported, Bey will also be honored with the Billboard Millennium Award later this month. The ceremony, set to take place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena, will feature performances by Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, Pitbull, Rihanna and Black Eyed Peas.
