The hour-long program will promote science, education and technology.
Black Eyed Peas front man Will.I.Am is teaming up with inventor Dean Kame to produce a back-to-school TV special. The hour-long program titled "i.am FIRST: Science is Rock and Roll" will promote science, education and technology.
Viewers will also get a peak at the 20th annual FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Championships, a worldwide science and robotics competition for students in kindergarten through high school that was founded by Kame in 1989.
"As families across America are preparing to send their kids back to school, 'i.am FIRST – Science is Rock and Roll' will entertain as well as get viewers excited about robots," Dean Kamen told AllHipHop.com in a press release. "Find out just how cool technology can be as the top robot teams face off in competition."
The special will air Sunday, August 14 at 7 p.m. EST on ABC. A list of celebrities including the Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Dogg, Britney Spears and Willow Smith will be appearing throughout the event to talk to the students.
