VH1 will examine the interrelated history of crack cocaine and hip hop in a new documentary scheduled to air in September. The film, titled Planet Rock: The Story of Hip Hop and the Crack Generation, will feature interviews with Snoop Dogg, Raekwon, The RZA, B Real of Cypress Hill and more.

The doc is executive produced and narrated by former dealer turned rap icon and actor Ice-T. The movie will explore the development of both phenomenons, which rose to prominence in the '80s, fueling each other for better and worse.
