Lil Wayne is not only celebrating the success of his own album Tha Carter IV, he took a bit of time to reminisce on a certain Seattle grunge band.
The New Orleans MC sat down with MTV News and admitted that he was a young fan of Nirvana's Nevermind album.
"Because I was young and I actually listened to the lyrics, and I probably felt at that time that I was rebelling and I could associate myself with that and relate to the things [Cobain] was talking about and speaking about in the song," Wayne said. "I probably couldn't, but I thought I could."
2011 marks the 20th anniversary of Nevermind's release, the Nirvana front man Kurt Cobain and album not only reshaped rock music but popular culture as a whole.
