Mimi and JD look to create fresh hits.
After giving birth to twins six months ago, Mariah Carey is ready to get back to work. The iconic R&B vocalist recently went into the studio with longtime collaborator and So So Def hitmaker Jermaine Dupri.
“So happy to be back in the studio with the one & only @Mr_Dupri aka Jermash!” wrote Mariah on Twitter. Dupri also chimed in on the news, posting a picture of the two: “We are back together,” he tweeted.
The JD / MC tag team received much acclaim for resurrecting the Grammy-winning singer's career on 2005's multi-platinum The Emancipation of Mimi. Most recently they collaborated on the 2010 Christmas single "Oh Santa!"
While she's not recording new material Carey is expected to appear as a special guest on Fox's new singing competition series, The X Factor.
