Christina Milian and The Dream Officially Divorced

After months of waiting, the two artists are finally free

Settlement terms were nailed down in November 2010 and finally, almost a year later, Christina Milian and The Dream have finalized their divorce. As previously reported, the details didn’t sound too bad. Milian received $4 million and was to receive $5,000 a month in child support for their daughter, Violet Nash.

The mother and beautiful little girl have been seen around Miami recently and they’re both all smiles. This is a change from last year, when The Dream filed for divorce just 9 days before the birth of their daughter, claiming that their marriage was “irretrievably broken”, with “no hope for reconciliation”. This came as no surprise to some who criticized their somewhat short courting period and decision to elope and marry in a Vegas Chapel in September 2009.

Although this was a difficult process it seems that Milian was able to make the best of it and use it as a learning experience. After turning 30 this year she said, “I think love has been my biggest lesson in my twenties and also just learning how to be myself and grow into my own shell without having to try and rebel.”

Now she’s focusing on her daughter and career. She’s been in the studio recording and already has her eyes on a collab with Justin Bieber. She’s said, “Actually I've worked on a couple of songs in the studio lately that we're trying to get on his [Bieber’s] project, something will get on there. Fingers crossed.”
