Mos Def and Talib Kweli to Release Black Star Album

A reunion album will be released in 2012.

Black Star fans rejoice: Mos Def and Talib Kweli will be releasing new songs next year. In a recent interview with MTV News, Brooklyn rapper Kweli announced that he and Mos Def are working on a new Black Star LP.

“We have a bunch of songs recorded,” Kweli said. “We are just trying to figure out the best way to release them, whether it's going to be one by one, EP or album.”

He also talked about their latest song, "Fix Up," which the group released on The Colbert Report last month saying, "When you heard “Fix Up” on Colbert, it wasn't even mixed; it was something we recorded a week before. Now we're at the mixing stage of the song and we are going to put that out ourselves."

This next project will be a long-awaited follow-up to Black Star's only album, which was released in 1998.
