S.O.B.'s may be a classic New York venue, but the South had a strong showing there last night. Atlanta's 2 Chainz and Houston's Marcus Manchild, Slim Thug and Paul Wall played a sold-out show at the venue in front of an eager NYC crowd.

BET.com was on the scene and spoke to the performers before they rocked the stage.

"I'm just the product of hard work," 2 Chainz said of what propelled him into the spotlight to perform in front of a frenzied Big Apple audience. "People from my region supported me from early 2011, and from the top of the year it just felt like the momentum was moving toward this way."

The rapper, formerly of Playaz Circle, has become the rapper du jour after breaking out on his own last year.

"I started doing features with a lot of artists from [New York] ... and everything just led up to the line you saw wrapped around this building," he said.

For their part, the Houstonians were in town to promote the promising new talent, Marcus Manchild. The young gun's new mixtape, Free Yo Mind Music, drops in February.

"The good thing about Marcus is he don't rap as slow as us," Slim Thug joked. "Me and Paul, we laidback, but New York people might like this guy a little better. And he's a pretty boy."

Thug and Paul Wall joined Marcus on stage for a crowd-pleasing performance of their H-town classic, "Still Tippin." Pioneering DJ/producer Michael 5000 Watts was also present to show his support.

"It's really another generation of Houston," Thug said. "We've got [Marcus Manchild], Kirko [Bangz] and a lot of other cats in Houston that are doing big things. So we're just trying to keep it going and support our people, just like Bun B and Pimp C supported us."
