Six weeks after Whitney Houston's unexpected death in a Beverly Hills hotel room on Feb. 11, on the eve of the Grammy Awards, the coroner's have finally gotten the results of the toxicology tests and revealed the official cause of death as accidental drowning.

According to the Associated Press, coroner spokesman Craig Harvey found cocaine and metabolites in Houston's system, indicative of a chronic cocaine user. However, it is also being made clear that heart disease as a result of chronic cocaine use also had much to do with the superstar's demise.

Houston's sister-in-law, Patricia Houston, released the following statement: "We are saddened to learn the result of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure."

Whitney Houston was 48 years old at the time of her death.
