J. Cole Hosts "Nobody's Perfect" Essay Contest in Hometown

J. Cole offers aspiring writers a chance to do something special for Mother’s Day.

J. Cole is something of a hometown hero in his native Fayetteville, North Carolina, and the rapper's latest charity effort is likely to enhance that reputation even further. Cole, a BET Music Matters artist, recently announced an essay contest via his Dreamville Foundation that will ask kids to pay homage to their mothers.
The contest is pegged to Mother's Day, and the prompt kids will respond to is "Nobody's perfect, but my Mother's perfect for me," inspired by Cole's single "Nobody's Perfect." Essays will be between 50 and 350 words.
10 winners of the contest will be invited to the inaugural Dreamville Foundation Mother's Day Brunch this May, with their mothers and families in tow.
