Big Sean is Principal for a Day at Michigan School

The G.O.O.D. Music MC awards students for their improved attendance.

The students of Lincoln High School in Warren, Michigan got a special treat late in this school year when Big Sean paid a visit and served as principal for a day.

The G.O.O.D. Music artist and Michigan native came to the school on Monday [May 14] as the grand prize for raising its attendance ratings by nine percent.

"One of my New Year’s resolutions was to be more involved. Especially with education,” Big Sean told local ABC affiliate WXYZ. “So this was the perfect way to get involved with the school and it’s tight to see the kids so excited.”

The 24-year-old rapper went from classroom to classroom visiting with students and telling them about the importance of staying in school.

Fellow Detroit emcee Royce Da 5'9" also performed at a special assembly that was hosted by Sway of MTV News.

Big Sean attended Cass Technical High School, where he graduated with a 3.7 GPA and was offered a scholarship to Michigan State University.
