Teyana Taylor, the 21-year-old rapper and singer from Harlem, is the latest signee to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label. The news was confirmed yesterday [May 14] via press release.

Taylor first came to national prominence as a protégé of Pharrell Williams, who made an appearance in her memorable episode of the MTV series My Super Sweet 16 in 2007. Though she was previously signed to Williams' Star Trak label, Taylor has been linked to West's crew for some time, having contributed vocals to his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album and performed at the G.O.O.D. Music showcase at SXSW last year.

Taylor released her first album From a Planet Called Harlem as a 17-year-old in 2008. She released a new original mixtape, The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor, last month.

West's G.O.O.D. Music imprint, which is distributed by Island Def Jam, has been on something of a signing spree of late. Q-Tip joined the label in April and there have been talks of 2 Chainz joining the fold soon.
