Kendrick Lamar Global Fusion

Kendrick Lamar is taking his recipe across the country. The Compton rapper was just added to the lineup of the Global Fusion Festival in Philadelphia on Saturday, July 21. It’s the perfect warm-up with Kendrick gearing up to rock 23 cities on the BET Music Matters tour this fall.

The event lineup will also include headliners Brandy, Elle Varner, Luke James, Kenny Lattimore and R.K.M. & Ken-Y. The Global Fusion Festival—which is free, by the way—is Philadelphia’s largest one-day festival, attracting more than 30,000 attendees via its celebration of the city's African Diaspora, Hispanic, Caribbean and Asian cultures. This past spring, with the buzz from his 2011 album Section.80 building steadily, Kendrick signed a deal with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. He grinded all summer to prep his major-label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d city, and now he’s taking his show on the road. Just a handful of weeks after GFF, Kendrick is headlining the Music Matters tour for BET, hitting 23 cities beginning in September. The following month, on October 2, Kendrick’s major-label debut hits stores. If the first single, “The Recipe,” featuring Dr. Dre, is any indication, it’s going to be the perfect exclamation point on Kendrick’s amazing run this year.

Check out Kendrick Lamar tomorrow, Saturday, July 21, at the Global Fusion Festival. For more info go to www.GlobalFusionFestival.com.
