B.G. is going on a long hiatus after being sentenced to 14 years in prison for felony gun possession and witness tampering, but the former Cash Money fixture has made peace with the outcome of the case. In a statement released to TMZ, the Hot Boy said he was grateful to have dodged a lengthier sentence.
"I am relieved I found out what my fate was yesterday because I was facing 30 years and my case kept getting pushed back," he said. "I am just ready to get my sentence started because it’s not RIP BG it’s FREE BG ... I feel happy and blessed that I will still be a young man and still be able to see daylight because I am someone, a dad, a brother and a son."
B.G. pled guilty to his crimes in 2009. While away in jail, he says he won't disappear from the rap game entirely. The "Bling Bling" rapper, who has been active on the mixtape scene in recent years, says fans can look forward to new music being released while he's behind bars.
