Nas Plans A Song For His Son
Nas paid homage to little girls and their fathers everywhere with his recent single "Daughters," but the Queensbridge emcee hasn't forgotten about the sons of the world. Nas said he's already begun work on a new song with his little boy in mind, just as "Daughters" was a letter to his first-born girl.
“I’m doing a song for my son next," he said in a recent interview with XXL. "I already got half the first verse finished."
Nas's three-year-old son, Knight, is from his four-year marriage to singer Kelis. Daughter, Destiny, 18, is from a previous relationship with childhood sweetheart Carmen Bryant.
In a recent interview with CNN, Nas said he wants to bring his skills as a musician to bear with his parenting.
"I did my best, but it wasn't good enough for me. So that's why I did this record," he said of "Daughters."
It's not yet clear if the song for his son, Knight, is a part of a larger project.
