The young rap star needs to focus on her upcoming album.
With the ongoing wars between women in hip hop, it’s become rare to see two female MCs supporting each other. However, fans might've received a bit of hope after Azealia Banks tweeted that she was invited to tour with Nicki Minaj across the pond.
“I got invited to tour with Nicki Minaj in Europe but I cant go because I have to finish my album during that time. :(” the rapper told her Twitter fans.
Arguably still early in her career, the "mermaid" hip hop artist has become a hot commodity, and recently was named the muse for fashion designer Alexander Wang’s T campaign. The Harlem lyricist unveiled her Fantasea mixtape earlier this month, and is now focused on finishing her debut studio album to the dismay of her and Nikki Minaj’s fans.
While the young rap star seemed bummed that she couldn’t join Nicki on stage, the Barbie MC tweeted something questionable after Banks declined the invitation.
“#ManTheseB*****sDelirious,” tweeted the Pink Friday star.
While it’s not clear if the tweet was directed at Banks, some took it as a subliminal stab at the young rapper. After Minaj’s Twitter post, Banks made a few subliminal tweets herself, saying “Not even worth it……” and “you and I both know. :).” Perhaps these ladies should take a note from rapper Eve, who recently urged female rappers to have a bit more camaraderie. And the fans, well, they should hold their excitement about the two female rappers teaming up.
