Eminem has come a long way since his Slim Shady LP days, celebrating a legendary career with more accomplishments ahead. The Detroit rapper has become the first person to hit 60 million likes on Facebook, more than 600,000 likes ahead of his runner-up and “Love the Way You Lie” collaborator Rihanna.

With over 900 million active users, Facebook is one of the largest social networking services in the world. The platform has become a strong marketing and public relations tool for today’s hottest celebrities and has kept fans engaged with numerous brands.

Currently, Rih Rih has 59,381,829 likes on the social networking site and Lady Gaga is close behind her at 53 million. However, there’s a chance that the Bajan pop star may dethrone her rap competitor, as she’s gaining 26,000 likes a day compared to Em’s 24,000.

Eminem has experienced many firsts, including his reigning title as the first artist to win Best Rap Album at the Grammys for three consecutive LPs. He’s also the first rapper to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song. The hip hop star’s most recent Facebook record just adds another page to his history.
