Eve Reflects on Her Past Relationship With Stevie J

The rapper says of the woman she is today, "he couldn't even see this."

During what she dubbed an “Intimate Hour,” rapper Eve hosted some Philadelphia high school girls and looked back on her life journey and former relationship with Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Stevie J. As maturity often comes with age, the hip hop star discussed her past with the young women, calling the relationship a learning experience, but making it clear that there’s no way her first love would be able to see the womanl she is now.

“You meet people all the time. We just happened to fall in love. Umm, but thankfully I knew better, I know better, I am happily in love now. And the girl now, he couldn’t even see this. I would be like, ‘I’m sorry, we don’t speak the same language!’ But you know it is what it is,” she said.

The rapper-actress added that she’s thankfully in a “different place” now, and the new love she speaks of is none other than her powerhouse boyfriend, British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper.

Eve had a few more words of advice for the young women in her audience, encouraging them to embrace their voices. “When I was younger I didn’t question things but now I am annoying! Like if something doesn’t feel right speak up! If you feel like you are being lied to, speak up! If you feel like sexually he is trying to push you too fast, speak up. And let me tell you something, anybody that knows you're worth it will stick around,” she shared.

The famous MC will release her fourth studio album, Lip Lock, this fall. In the meantime, catch the former "pitbull in a skirt" performing on the Rock the Bells tour later this month.
