LL Cool J Burglar Pleads Not Guilty
The transient man who broke into LL Cool J's home, and was subsequently beaten up by the rapper, appeared in court yesterday and entered a plea of "Not Guilty," TMZ reports.
Jonathan Kirby, 56, has been charged with first degree burglary with a person present in the incident. Since he is a third strike offender, he could get up to life in prison if convicted.
Kirby sported two black eyes in the courtroom Tuesday. LL, who was upstairs sleeping when Kirby broke in, reportedly broke the intruder's nose upon discovering him in his home.
Bail has been set at $1.1 million with a preliminary hearing scheduled for next month.
