2 Chainz has earned his first platinum plaque as a solo artist with a little bit of help from his friend Drake. Their single "No Lie" off Chainz' debut album, Based on a Tru Story, has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Def Jam broke the news of the milestone on Twitter.
"Congrats to @2chainz on his single, "No Lie" ft. @Drake officially going Platinum!" the label posted.
In response to the news, 2 Chainz posted his own tweet thanking his fans.
"Much luv to all my fans!! Couldn't do it without y'all!" he wrote.
"No Lie" was produced by Mike WiLL Made It and served as Based's lead single. It was originally released on May 8.
