Rick Ross, John Legend and Anthony Hamilton are each esteemed in music circles, but one or more could soon be nominated for the highest honor in film. The artists are reportedly on the shortlist to receive Academy Awards nominations for Best Original Song, CBS reports.

Ross, Legend and Hamilton all contributed songs to the upcoming Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained, making them eligible for the prize. Ross's song "100 Black Coffins" was produced and co-written by the film's star, Jamie Foxx.

Nominations won't be officially announced until January 10. The Unchained boys will likely face stiff competition from Adele, who recorded the new James Bond theme "Skyfall," as well as The Black Keys, who contributed to RZA's The Man with the Iron Fists.
