Chief Keef Sued for Child Support

Teen mom is suing the rapper for an undisclosed amount.

Chief Keef is not going to like this. After being sentenced to 60 days in juvenile detention last week for violating his probation, the 17-year-old rapper is now facing a lawsuit for child support.
TMZ.com is reporting that a teenage girl, possibly still in middle school, has filed a petition for child support in Chicago against the rap star. The young mom alleges that Keef fathered her daughter in 2011 and is seeking an undisclosed amount in monthly support, along with health insurance and medical expenses.
Keef, real name Keith Cozart, purportedly fathered the child when he was 15 years old. TMZ, speculates that the mother could have been in the 6th grade at the time. In the state of Illinois it is illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to engage in sexual acts, even if consensual.
"When both parties are between 9 and 17 years old, the older person commits a crime called 'criminal sexual abuse.'"
Though offenders can be imprisoned for up to a year and are required to register as a sex offender for 10 years, the crime is hardly ever prosecuted. It is unlikely that the rapper will face charges for the relationship.
