T.I.: I'd Love to Stay at Atlantic

Tip hopes to reach a new deal with his longtime label.

Tell Atlantic give me $75 million or I’ma quit… Nah, that’s not exactly the sentiment coming from T.I. over his impending free agency. In fact, the hip hop superstar is not opposed to staying with his longtime label, Atlantic Records, as long as he’s fairly compensated.

Coming off the release of his eighth studio album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is the Head, last month the "Trap Back Jumpin" rapper told The Urban Daily that he would love to re-up with the label where he's spent the last ten years.

"Ay man, I’d love to stay where I am," Tip revealed. "It’d have to be shown that the feeling is mutual and the way you do that is on paper with commitment to dollars."

As for the $75 million demand that he has reportedly made, T.I. chalks that talk up to Internet hearsay.

"Hey look man I see all that s--t man…I respect my present partners at Atlantic Records and had there ever been a separation between them and myself I would respect my new partners in such a way that I’m not gonna sensationalize anything. They give me my fair market value for what it is I have to offer."

With his current contract under Atlantic nearly expired, the soon to be free agent has been the major focus of a bidding war between major record labels who want to aquire his services. Trouble Man marked Tip's eighth consecutive Top 10 album debut  (seven under Atlantic) and the VH1 reality show star says that despite the hefty price tag, the deal is fair and promises courting music labels that he still wields enough creativity and drive to make things lucrative for all parties involved.

"They give me my fair market value for what it is I have to offer. And if you want to be in business with me let’s give each other 110 percent."
