Jennifer Hudson to Sing With Sandy Hook Chorus

The singer will perform alongside children from Newtown school at Super Bowl.

The 2013 Super Bowl performances just might outshine the actual game itself, with tons already eagerly awaiting Beyoncé’s halftime spectacle and an Alicia Keys rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” Now it has been announced that Jennifer Hudson will be joined by Sandy Hook Elementary School chorus to sing “America the Beautiful” at the game’s pre-show, in what should be a heart-warming performance.

News that the Oscar-winner would be taking the stage came yesterday by way of NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy. The chorus features 26 students from the Newtown, Connecticut, school where 20 first graders along with six adults were tragically murdered in the December 14 shooting.

This will be J-Hud's second Super Bowl appearance. She sang the national anthem at Super Bowl XLIII following the murder of her mother, brother and nephew.
