Eve and Britney Spears Battle Over "Scream & Shout"

The rapstress says Spears did not sing on the new will.i.am single.

Britney Spears’ appearance on will.i.am’s new single "Scream & Shout" was supposed to mark the triumphant return of the former pop music princess. But Britney’s camp is not happy with Philly MC Eve’s recent insinuation that the singer did not actually lay her vocals on the track.

"I heard that might not be Britney,” said Eve during an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. "That's what I heard, but you know, I don't know," continued Eve. "It could be Britney. But I heard it wasn't."

Spears’ publicist Jeff Raymond reportedly told TMZ that Eve’s claims are "absolute BS," stating, "Britney sang the song. will.i.am wanted her for this song and she sang on it."

Many have pointed out that the song, which was released in November of 2012, sounds unlike any music Spears has released in the past. TMZ quotes another source who insists that it is Britney on the track and suggests that Eve is simply jealous.

"Scream & Shout" was penned by will.i.am, Jef Martens and Jean Baptiste and will appear on The Black Eyed Peas frontman’s fourth solo album #willpower.
