Tupac’s Videographer: Suge Knight Lied About Shooting

New documentary alleges Knight was not shot during 1996 incident.

New revelations about the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur are coming to light in an upcoming documentary about the slain rap star entitled 7Dayz. Director Gobi M. Rahimi, who served as Pac’s trusted videographer for the last years of his life, claims in a recently released trailer for his film that Suge Knight was dishonest about the injuries he suffered in the shooting that left his Death Row star dead at 25.

Knight has long claimed that he was grazed in the head by a bullet during the infamous September 7, 1996, shooting. But Gobi, who witnessed the immediate aftermath of the incident with Pac’s inner circle at Las Vegas’ University Medical Center, claims to have heard a nurse tell Knight’s mother that her son was “fine” and only suffered a cut from flying debris that would require stitches.

Gobi’s claims fuel long-held speculations about the circumstances of Shakur’s death and could give credibility to conspiracy theorists who believe that Knight played a role in Pac’s shooting. "I just remember what I heard," Gobi told HipHopDX, "So, unless they went in afterwards and they found a bullet … I’m just repeating what I heard her say."

The trailer for 7Dayz was posted on YouTube on January 2, 2013, and Gobi is currently seeking funding via Kickstarter.com to have it released. The documentary will chronicle the last week of Shakur’s life, as remembered by Gobi and the family and friends who waited by his side in hopes that the icon would survive his injuries.

7Dayz will feature exclusive footage and interviews collected by the Iranian born filmmaker, who directed many of Pac’s final music videos, including "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" and "Made Niggaz," and was filming the final months of the star's life under Pac's direction.
