Last week MTV unveiled its list of the "Hottest MCs in the Game' and, like any "best of" discussion, it drew plenty of ire, most notably from Kanye West, who broke his media silence to criticize his placement on the list.
Though he started by joking "Somebody's gonna die," the young hit maker quickly made it clear that he's not concerned about what critics think of place in hip hop. "I don't know, but I don't really give a f---. It is what it is. Think about it, from what they say, it's the past year, I've had a quiet year."
"I should be on there," the "Work Out (One Night Stand)" MC told Drama, before facetiously adding, "They're f---- dead and I'm gonna kill them."
Cole went on to question the legitimacy of the list, saying, "We shouldn't talk about this anymore. They want this. F--- these guys."
He went on to note that other MCs should not worry about the list, which comes off to many as arbitrary. "Future doesn't even give a f--- about Kanye. They don't even interrupt each other's lives and they're not competing on the same level."
Regardless of where Cole stands on this year's list, 2013 looks to be a monster year for the 28-year-old, who is currently finishing his sophomore album as well as a joint album with 2013's "Hottest MC in the Game," Kendrick Lamar.
