Maybach Music Group rapper Meek Mill may have violated the terms of his probation according to Treas Underwood, who is Meek's probation officer, as well as Assistant District Attorney Noel A. DeSantis.
Meek (real name Robert Williams) is serving a five-year probation stint, which stems from a 2008 conviction on drug and gun charges.
According to Underwood and DeSantis, part of Meek's probation is that he is not allowed to leave the state of Pennsylvania without providing an agenda that gives a detailed schedule as well as an explanation of the purpose for his travel destinations.
Hiphopdx reports that Meek claims even he is not always made aware of his travel plans. "The problem is that I don't know," said Mill of his travel plans, adding, "It changes every day."
Meek says that his attorney has now been asked to make Underwood aware of any travel endeavors, but Underwood contends that Mill himself is responsible for calling his probation officer.
Though Meek has to travel for work, which includes concerts, music videos and meetings, the Philadelphia MC also admitted that he feels a heightened sense of fear being in his hometown. "My best thing is to stay traveling," Meek said during the hearing. "Every time I come back to Philadelphia, someone tries to shoot me or get me back in trouble."
Meek also asked to be assigned to a different probation officer, as he feels Underwood, who Meek has known since the two were much younger, is creating problems in his life by doing things like making him wait in public areas where the rapper is frequently harassed by fans and rap hopefuls that want him to sign autographs and listen to demos. The judge, Genece E. Brinkley, however, did not grant Meek's request, telling him, "You folks are just going to have to work it out."
Meek is scheduled to perform with Nas at London's 02 Arena and is set to tour the US, beginning in New Orleans at the Lakefront Arena on March 31 and winding up at San Francisco's The Fillmore on April 28.
