One thing that has helped Decatur, Georgia trio Travis Porter is that they know what their lane is. Quez's mixtape, Black Boe Knows does not stray from the formula that got them hundreds of millions of views on YouTube.

Black Boe Knows features production by 8 Track, Chill, DJ Mustard, Cheese, Tha Bizness, Sapp and London on the Track.

The mixtape starts out with that ATL signature bass on tracks like the introductory "Beast Mode," and "Dirty Money," which features step brother and Travis Porter group mate, Ali.

Towards the middle it slows down and gets a little deeper with songs like "Thoughts on My Balcony" featuring Mac Miller and Sapp, and standout track, "The A Room," which samples Georgia legends OutKast.

On another one of BBK's high notes,"A Million," producer Tha Bizness takes Jay-Z's "A Million and One Questions" and flips it on its head to create an undeniable club banger.

Quez saved the best for last on this one with "Shawty What's Yo Name," which just might be the most radio friendly track of the 14.

Black Boe Knows sometimes falls short of originality, with tracks like "U Nasty" sounding like YMCMB songs from 2011 (which stands out more as Quez's voice bares resemblance to Tyga).

Any successful artist, will tell you, in order to survive in this game, you have to re-brand yourself. With Travis Porter and on his own, Quez shows raw talent with flashes of versatility, but on this one he's not showing anything new or different.

It may not be groundbreaking, but if you're headed out to the club this weekend, Black Boe Knows is the perfect soundtrack to your night.
